About Badin District

Badin District, located in the southeastern part of Sindh, Pakistan, borders the Arabian Sea and India’s Gujarat state, with Badin city serving as its administrative headquarters. The district comprises several talukas, including Badin, Matli, Talhar, Tando Bago, Shaheed Fazil Rahu, and Golarchi. It is known for its fertile agricultural lands producing rice and sugarcane, as well as coastal fisheries and oil and gas fields that contribute to the regional economy. Rich in Sindhi culture and coastal heritage, the district also includes parts of the Indus Delta and nearby wetlands. However, Badin faces ongoing challenges such as waterlogging, sea intrusion, climate vulnerability, and infrastructure development.
