On the directives of Director General LDA, Tahir Farooq, the Town Planning Wing of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its operations against illegal commercial buildings and defaulters of commercial fees. During a large scale operation carried out a day earlier, LDA teams sealed a total of 91 properties across various housing schemes and controlled areas.
According to LDA officials, enforcement actions were undertaken in several localities including Gulberg, Peco Road, Gujjarpura, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, Mustafa Town, and private schemes along Bypass Road in Johar Town. A total of 28 properties were sealed in Gulberg and Peco Road for illegal commercial use, while 14 properties were sealed in a private housing scheme in Johar Town.
Similarly, 32 properties in Gujjarpura, Gulshan Ravi, and Samanabad were sealed over non payment of commercial fees and unauthorized commercial activities. During a recovery operation, an additional 17 properties were sealed in Mustafa Town.
The sealed premises include marriage halls, hospitals, private schools, bakeries, pharmacies, clinics, grocery stores, beauty salons, courier centers, workshops, restaurants, food outlets, shops, and offices.
The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner I Asad uz Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali. According to an LDA spokesperson, indiscriminate action against illegal commercial activities and fee defaulters will continue as per the directives of the DG LDA.

Assistant Commissioner Kasur visited the Land Record Center Kasur to review record availability, record room arrangements, and the overall operational system.
The visit was aimed at assessing public service delivery and arrangements related to record security and management.
During the visit, public concerns were also heard and the concerned staff was directed to provide better facilities to citizens while ensuring effective protection and maintenance of official records.
In addition, a detailed inspection of the computer section was conducted, where ongoing work was reviewed and instructions were given to further improve the digital system for more efficient land record services.
Residents expressed hope that continuous administrative monitoring will improve land record services and ensure timely facilitation for applicants.

An emergency inspection was carried out at a government owned pond in Talwandi, Chunian, following concerns regarding its condition and maintenance. During the visit, the on-ground situation was reviewed in detail and relevant land records were also examined.
Assistant commissioner Chunian Sidra Sattar expressed dissatisfaction over the current state of the pond and directed the concerned staff to initiate immediate cleanliness and maintenance measures. The move aims to improve sanitation conditions and ensure proper upkeep of public assets.
Officials emphasized that government-owned sites and water bodies should be maintained regularly in the public interest and any negligence in this regard will not be overlooked.
Residents have welcomed the action and expressed hope that timely maintenance of such public spaces will help improve local environmental conditions.
