Deputy Commissioner Kasur, Muhammad Asif Raza, has officially launched a plantation drive in Pattoki as part of ongoing efforts to improve the urban environment and promote a greener city.
According to the district administration, trees are being planted along major roads, green belts, and public spaces across the city. The initiative aims to reduce environmental pollution and provide a healthier and more pleasant environment for residents.
Officials stated that, along with plantation, proper care and maintenance of plants will also be ensured to achieve long-term sustainability. Relevant staff have been directed to monitor and protect the newly planted trees.
The initiative is being carried out in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, focusing on environmental improvement and urban beautification across the province.
The district administration has also urged citizens to actively participate in the plantation drive and contribute towards building a cleaner and greener Pattoki.

Deputy Commissioner Kasur, Muhammad Asif Raza, along with MNA Saad Waseem Sheikh and MPA Naeem Safdar Ansari, has officially inaugurated a free transport service aimed at facilitating the public with accessible and safe travel options.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, officials stated that the service will greatly benefit citizens, particularly students, elderly individuals, and daily commuters. The initiative is designed to ease transportation challenges and provide reliable mobility for residents.
According to the district administration, the free transport service will ensure dignified and secure travel for citizens while also helping reduce traffic congestion in the city.
This initiative reflects the Government of Punjab’s commitment to public welfare and improved urban services, promoting a more efficient and inclusive transport system.

Managing Director WASA, Ghufran Ahmed, visited the sewerage upgradation project in Chauburji Garden Estate. During the visit, Director Shazil Waqar briefed him on the project and stated that the upgradation of the sewerage system in Poonch House Colony and Chauburji Garden Estate is progressing rapidly, with approximately 50 percent of the work already completed.
He further informed that sewerage pipelines of various sizes are being laid, and a modern pump house (lift station) will also be constructed as part of the project.
The MD WASA directed that the project must be completed within the stipulated timeframe under all circumstances. He said that the completion of the project will resolve long standing sewerage issues in the area.
He added that providing better drainage facilities to citizens remains a top priority for WASA Lahore.
