On the directions of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq, the LDA Town Planning Wing launched a large scale operation against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters, sealing a total of 191 properties across different areas within the LDA controlled area.
LDA teams carried out operations on Canal Road, Samanabad, Gulshan Ravi, Gulberg, Faisal Town, College Road, various private housing schemes, PCSIR, UET, Gul Daman and Allama Iqbal Town. According to officials, the operation was conducted to curb illegal commercial activities, enforce commercial regulations and recover outstanding dues.
According to details, 59 properties were sealed on Canal Road, Samanabad and Gulshan Ravi over illegal commercial use, while 27 properties were sealed in Gulberg and Faisal Town. Similarly, another 80 properties were sealed on College Road and in private schemes, PCSIR, UET and Gul Daman over illegal commercial use and non payment of commercial fees.
In addition, LDA teams sealed 25 more properties in Allama Iqbal Town during a recovery operation against non payment of dues.
The sealed properties included private schools, colleges, banks, grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, food points, estate offices, bakeries, pharmacies, beauty salons, clinics, auto workshops, shops, offices and other commercial establishments.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner One Asad uz Zaman and Chief Town Planner Two Azhar Ali. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq said that indiscriminate action against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulter properties will continue, adding that enforcement of building and commercial regulations across the city will be ensured at all costs.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has directed plot owners in LDA City to clear their outstanding installments and other dues according to their respective balloting phases by June 30, 2026. Failure to do so will result in surcharge and further action under the relevant rules and regulations.
According to a public awareness campaign issued by the LDA, allottees from the first and second balloting phases, whose installment period ended on June 30, 2022, they were instructed to pay all outstanding dues by June 30, 2026.
Similarly, allottees from the third and fourth balloting phases, whose payment deadline was December 31, 2024, have also been given until June 30, 2026 to clear their dues without any additional surcharge.
The LDA has clarified that allottees from the first, second, third and fourth balloting phases who fail to pay their dues by the deadline will be charged a surcharge along with the principal amount from July 1, 2026, in accordance with the applicable rules.
According to the authority, eligible allottees who deposit their outstanding charges under the extension policy may have their allotments restored in line with the prescribed terms and conditions. The step is aimed at providing relief to citizens while ensuring financial discipline in the project.
To facilitate plot owners, the LDA has also kept its online payment system active. Citizens can obtain challan forms through the LDA’s official website, www.lda.gop.pk, or the LDA mobile application. Payments can also be deposited at branches of Allied Bank, MCB Bank and Bank of Punjab across the country.
The authority has advised citizens to carefully verify all information printed on the challan form, as any incorrect entry must be confirmed through the relevant directorate.
LDA officials said timely payment of dues would not only help plot owners avoid an additional financial burden but also support the pace of development activities in the project. They urged all allottees not to wait until the last date and to clear their dues as soon as possible to avoid extra charges or administrative complications.

Director General Lahore Development Authority Tahir Farooq visited the LDA Citizen Facilitation Centre, where he met citizens who had arrived for different services and inquired about their issues.
During the visit, the DG LDA directly interacted with citizens who had come for NOCs, property transfers, shifting and non-shifting file matters. He asked them about the processing of applications, availability of facilities and problems being faced by the public.
The Director Citizen Facilitation Centre briefed the DG LDA on the centre’s performance, application processing, public facilitation measures and extended working hours.
DG LDA Tahir Farooq said the working hours of the Citizen Facilitation Centre had been extended to facilitate citizens at the end of the financial year. According to him, the centre will remain open today, Saturday, until 6:00 pm, while on Monday and Tuesday, June 29 and 30, the Citizen Facilitation Centre will remain open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
He said officers and staff would remain on duty during the extended hours to ensure timely processing of applications at the close of the financial year.
The DG LDA also reviewed the status of shifting and non-shifting files received at the Citizen Facilitation Centre. He directed the relevant officers to process public applications on merit, transparently and within the stipulated time.
Tahir Farooq said most of the LDA Town Planning services had been shifted to the e Biz portal, adding that citizens no longer needed to visit LDA offices for services available on the portal. He said applications received through the e Biz portal were being processed automatically.
The DG LDA further said more reforms were being introduced to improve application processing at the Citizen Facilitation Centre, with the objective of providing citizens with faster, transparent and easier services.
Additional DG Housing, Chief Town Planner I, Chief Town Planner II, Chief Metropolitan Plans and Director Auction were also present on the occasion.
