The Lahore Development Authority has continued its initiative to provide residential and commercial plots to citizens on easy installments under the directions of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq. As part of this process, the fifth computerized balloting of LDA’s residential and commercial plots was held at the LDA Sports Complex in Johar Town.
The balloting included fully developed residential and commercial plots located in Johar Town, LDA City, Allama Iqbal Town and LDA Enclave Mohlanwal. According to the LDA, successful applicants will pay for the plots through 12 equal installments over a period of three years.
The plots offered in the balloting included 4 marla commercial plots in LDA City Business Bay Block, 2 to 2.5 marla commercial plots in Johar Town Blocks M, N and F1, 3.11 marla commercial plots in the Fruit Market of Allama Iqbal Town, 3.5 marla residential plots in Johar Town Block R1 and 3 marla residential plots in Block D of LDA Enclave Mohlanwal.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq said the authority is providing plots located in its schemes to citizens on easy installments over three years. He said the initiative offers citizens a valuable opportunity to acquire fully developed residential and commercial plots on convenient terms. He added that the LDA would soon bring more plots to the market on easy installments.
According to the LDA, a total of 3,341 applications were received to participate in the balloting for 126 residential and commercial plots. The authority received 279 applications for 12 commercial plots in Allama Iqbal Town, 523 applications for 29 commercial plots in Johar Town and 692 applications for 33 residential plots in Johar Town.
Similarly, 688 applications were received for 22 commercial plots in LDA City Business Bay, while 1,159 applications were submitted for 30 residential plots in LDA Enclave Mohlanwal. The balloting was conducted through a computerized system with the support of the Punjab Information Technology Board.
A large number of citizens attended the ceremony, while chief town planners, the chief IT officer, directors of housing and other relevant officials were also present.

Etihad Town Phase 4 was formally introduced during an opening ceremony held in a local Marquee in Lahore on Bedian Road, marking another important development in the city’s expanding real estate landscape.

The project is being positioned as a modern residential and commercial community designed to cater to both genuine buyers and long term investors.
The development is expected to include residential plots in different categories, commercial areas, parks, mosques, wide roads, green belts and other community facilities.
Real estate market observers believe the project may attract early investor interest because of its location, brand recognition and the growing demand for planned housing societies around Lahore’s expanding urban zones.
During the launch, participants showed interest in the project’s proposed payment structure and development prospects. Several real estate platforms have reported that Phase 4 includes residential plot options such as 5 Marla, 10 Marla, 1 Kanal and 2 Kanal, with installment based payment plans aimed at making bookings accessible for different buyer segments.
Etihad Town’s earlier phases in Lahore have already contributed to the developer’s market presence, and the introduction of Phase 4 is expected to further strengthen its position in the city’s competitive housing sector. The project’s proximity to existing residential communities and improving road networks is also likely to support its future demand.
Real estate professionals say Lahore’s southern and suburban development corridors continue to gain momentum as buyers increasingly prefer secure gated communities with planned infrastructure, better accessibility and lifestyle facilities. In this context, Etihad Town Phase 4 is being seen as another addition to the growing trend of organized urban expansion in Punjab’s capital.
The opening ceremony concluded with expectations that the project would generate strong market activity in the coming weeks as booking, pricing and development details become clearer for buyers and investors.

The Punjab government has decided to introduce major reforms in the land use system in order to place urban development on modern lines and make the use of land more effective. For this purpose, preparations have begun for key amendments to the Punjab Land Use Plan Rules 2020.
According to sources, the proposed amendments are aimed at making the existing land use system more transparent, organized and aligned with modern urban planning requirements. The government wants to reduce unnecessary hurdles in land classification, reclassification, redevelopment and development projects so that urban growth can move forward in a more organized manner.
