More than Rs 22 billion has been collected so far in property tax across Punjab. The total property tax target for the province is set at Rs 33 billion, out of which Region B has been assigned a target of Rs 9 billion. According to the Excise and Taxation Department, inspectors and ETOs who fail to meet their targets will be removed from their positions.
Meanwhile, in the provincial capital Lahore, it has been decided to initiate strict action against major defaulters after April 10. Orders have been issued to seal 31,000 commercial properties.
Director Excise Ahmad Saeed stated that final notices had already been served to owners of commercial properties, but taxes were still not paid. All inspectors and ETOs have been directed to seal the properties of defaulters after April 10.
He further revealed that more than Rs 500 million in dues remain unpaid by defaulters. Along with sealing commercial properties, confiscation notices are also being issued to residential property tax defaulters.
According to Director Excise Ahmad Saeed, Region B has collected Rs 7 billion in property tax during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

Adviser to the Chief Minister of Punjab for Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives, Ali Dar, visited the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (CBD Punjab), where he was received by CEO Imran Amin and COO Mansoor Janjua.
During the visit, Ali Dar chaired a high level meeting at CBD Quaid District and was given a comprehensive briefing on major ongoing projects, including CBD Quaid District, Bab e Pakistan, and Nawaz Sharif IT City. Officials outlined progress on infrastructure, planning, and investment opportunities tied to these flagship developments.
Speaking on the occasion, Ali Dar said that under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab is making significant strides in modern infrastructure and urban development. He noted that the projects are designed to enhance economic activity, attract foreign investment, and generate employment across the province.
He later visited key project sites to review development work firsthand, describing CBD Punjab as a “game changer” and the country’s first modern business district of its kind. He emphasized the role of smart infrastructure, sustainable planning, and public private partnerships in ensuring long term economic growth.
Ali Dar added that Nawaz Sharif IT City will play a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan’s digital economy, while the broader CBD initiatives offer a modern model of urban development. He reaffirmed that these projects will help improve Pakistan’s global image and contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous future.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met with a delegation from leading Chinese companies, including Kunlun Group and Sundar Green Group, to discuss industrial cooperation and investment opportunities.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to jointly establish a solar panel manufacturing facility in Lahore through a partnership between Sundar Green Group and Kunlun Group. Additionally, Kunlun Group agreed to provide advanced vocational and industrial training in China to 50,000 Pakistani students.
A briefing informed that, in principle, approval has also been granted for the development of a 1,000 acre industrial estate in Lahore under mutual collaboration. The meeting also reviewed the potential transfer of technology for producing petrochemical products from coal in Punjab.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz assured full support and facilitation to both Chinese and local investors, stating that the government believes in supporting businessmen rather than running businesses itself. She added that reforms have been a key focus over the past two years, and Punjab has now become one of the most attractive provinces for investment.
She further noted that Pakistan has a vast solar energy market, and the shift toward solar power is accelerating due to the ongoing energy crisis. According to the briefing, the project is expected to create around 18,000 job opportunities in Punjab.
The delegation included CEO of Inner Mongolia Coal Mine Wang Jin Hanan Sheng, Investment Company CEO Zhao Gangbo, Sundar Green Group Chairman Muhammad Abid, CEO Azeem Iftikhar, Director Rana Faisal Hayat, and OSS CEO Danish Ahmad.
